I am a therapist in private practice in Leesburg. I work with individuals (and families) of most ages. My practice is affirming.
General Survey
Question: What percent of your organization identifies as part of the LGBTQ+ community?
Answer: More than 10%.
Question: What are your policies on LGBTQ+ trainings?
Answer: Not Applicable.
Question: How often do you require or recommend LGBTQ+ inclusive training?
Answer: I do not have employees. For myself, I very regularly cater my trainings to my work with individuals who identify as part of the LGBTQ+. This includes a monthly consult group I attend for therapists working with transgender clients.
Question: Which best describes your current policies and procedures for your LGBTQ+ staff?
Answer: Not Applicable.

Answer: Not Applicable.
Question: How do you create a positive space for the LGBTQ+ community?
Answer: My practice (just me) is an affirming practice and I advertise it this way.

Question: How long have you been assisting people who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community?
Answer: 10+ years.
Question: What age group(s) do you work with?
Answer: 5-12 years old, 13-18 years old, 18-24 years old, 24-65 years old. Mostly 10 and older. Also specializing in eating disorders, OCD, and anxiety.
Question: Is your mental health or medical treatment practices affected, directed, or informed by religious or moral teachings, values, or principles?
Answer: No.
Question: Do you have specialized training or background in any of the following fields?
Answer: Gender Dysphoria & Transgender Issues, Same-sex Couples Counseling/Therapy, Teen or Family Counseling/Therapy, Trans-Cis Family or Couples Counseling/Therapy. I work primarily with individuals and with families in conjunction with individual work. I do provide family therapy. I don't provide couples counseling, but will meet with partners and spouses in conjunction to individual work.
Question: Do you have specialized training or background in any of the following fields?
Answer: WPATH Guidance. Though I am not currently a member of WPATH, I have attended a number of trainings and I attend a monthly consult group that addresses many of these guidelines.
Question: Do you encourage, use, or suggest any of the following treatments: conversion therapy (or any therapy that tries to change a person’s identity or orientation); faith-based therapy that describes LGBTQ+ identities as bad, wrong, or harmful; ambush or inundation therapy that exposes a patient to regular anti-LGBTQ+ information or causes confrontation with large groups?
Answer: I don’t use these practices.
Question: Do you have a process that allows for treatment of those without insurance?
Answer: I am out of network with insurance. I am able to offer a small percentage of sliding-scale slots. I also provide referrals to other affirming practices when I am unable to meet with clients.
Question: Does your practice use LGBTQ+ affirming language in its forms and processes?
Answer: Yes.
